Schriftzeichen

Hallo,
möchte unter KDE koreanische Schriftzeichen verwenden. Ich habe dazu, wie unter http://www.uni-koeln.de/rrzk/kompas...18a.html#186535 beschrieben, in die Datei .profile export LC_CTYPE="ko_KR.UTF-8" eingefügt:
Trotzdem kann ich mit Shift-Leerzeichen in OpenOffice 1.1.4 nicht auf koreanische Eingabe umstellen. Was soll ich machen? 
Ich benutze übrigens KDE 3.4 und Suse Linux 9.0
